What’s On My Reading List:
Some of my favorite books to read are non-fiction books. I love books where you can learn more information. I’m not really into fictional books, but I will read them occasionally. I have always loved reading books by Christian writers about faith and their experiences they have had with Jesus, so if you have had a powerful story with Jesus or have known someone that has had one please message me, I’d love to hear it! Here are just a few of my favorite books; they all have Christian undertones.
- Glimpses of Heaven: True Stories of Hope and Peace at the End of Life’s Journey by Trudy Harris
This is one of the most heart touching books I have ever read. If you are dealing with a personal loss of someone, struggling with your faith or are confused and unsure of what happens after this life, I would highly recommend reading this book. These are a series of true stories about a hospice nurse’s personal experiences with dying patients. In many of her stories patient’s have encounters with God and heaven right before they die.
- Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis
This is such a sweet book about a young eighteen year old who fell in love with Uganda after volunteering there during one of her high school breaks. She ends up giving up her whole life in the United States to follow God’s plan for her by starting a ministry in Uganda, she also ends of up adopting thirteen little girls in the process. I love this book; this girl has such a passion for Jesus.
- 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper
This is a true story about a pastor who was driving home one day and got into an accident, the paramedics that came to the site declared him dead at the scene. This is the beautiful story about what he saw after the accident; he went straight to heaven for a brief period of time before he returned to Earth. He talks about the people and beautiful things he saw during his experience in Heaven. Stories like this make death sound not so scary after all.
- Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend
This is a book written by Christian psychologists. It talks about the importance of creating boundaries in various parts of our lives. I notice that many Christians may have a hard time having boundaries and saying no to others, but in this book it talks about why it is in fact biblical to have boundaries in place.
